Peradam proudly presents Joshua Abelow's Painter's Journal, published in conjunction with his solo booth presentation with James Fuentes at Frieze New York. Painter's Journal is made up of six journals that chronicle Abelow's first year living in New York in the late 90s. The ritual is basically coffee break vibes wrapped in an aroma of seaweed snacks with hints of a luxuriant thirty-second voicemail from an old, dead mentor telling you how proud he is. A splash of java and some reggae spice, two bites of eggs and sausage, then a cold shower after intimate sex with your dream girl/boy. You should be feeling very lyrical-- chatty with perhaps tones of buzz and better rhythm than usual. You may find yourself swept up again and again by the memories that dart across your mind--surprising, familiar images! The whites of your eyes are bright and clear. There may or may not be a pop song playing, but lets hope there is. There are of course risks involved but there are not risks involved right now so forget about it anyway there're always risks involved you could get hit by a car crossing the street or I could choke on this carrot.
