Chump of the Month

"I saw the best minds of my generation destroyed by madness, starving hysterical naked..."
- From HOWL, by the real Allen Ginsberg, 1955

As New York Magazine appropriately asked back in July 2010: "Is James Franco for Real?" Perhaps an easy target, this obvious 'Chump' doesn't deserve any more press-- especially from such a critically acclaimed resource as AH HOLE-- but we simply cannot cast a blind AH HOLE at such a blatant example of art-world retardation, celebrity mania, and cultural decay. We don't know if Franco was ever considered one of 'the best minds of his generation,' but he certainly is an ironic and offensive symbol that epitomizes our generation being 'destroyed by madness.'

Just as we thought Franco's come-back as a "multi-talented Chump" had fleeted, AND HE'S BACK! How exactly did he finagle a two-person show, 'Unfinished,' at the Los Angeles Gagosian Gallery - with fellow Chump, Gus Van Sant, nonetheless? "Unfinished?" More like "Unbelievable." In AH HOLE's personal opinion, can Gagosian ever be taken seriously again? Well we're certainly celebrating; one of the biggest jokes of the 21st century. Sorry James, you'll never be James Dean.
